Overview of Responsibilities:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with accuracy and timeliness.
Assist with preparing monthly management accounts
Analyse financial data and present findings to the accounts manager.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and inventory processes as needed.
Partner with the accounting manager to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including processing supplier invoices, liaising with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, preparing payments, and performing supplier reconciliations
Track and reconcile company credit card transactions, ensuring all expenses are accurately recorded and following up on missing receipts or discrepancies
Assist with purchase orders, including raising, tracking, and matching orders to invoices and deliveries
Coordinate with operations and procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate ordering of parts and supplies
Assist with bank reconciliations and general ledger entries
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
Assist with inventory accounting for automotive parts and marine equipment
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or partial completion of accounting designation
4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Business Central) and Excel.
Exceptional analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and internal teams

Preferred (Not Required)

Experience in automotive, marine, or inventory-based businesses
Familiarity with supplier management, payment processes, purchase orders, and credit card reconciliations
