Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Procurement Officer role based in Vieux Fort. The Procurement Officer will manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotations, and issuing purchase orders in line with company policies. The role involves monitoring stock levels, coordinating with warehouse and sales teams to understand demand, and ensuring timely replenishment of building and hardware materials. The Procurement Officer will review supplier performance, negotiate pricing and terms, and maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Daily tasks also include updating procurement systems, resolving delivery or invoice discrepancies, and collaborating with finance to support accurate budgeting and cost control.

Qualifications

Strong procurement and purchasing skills, with experience managing supplier relationships and sourcing building or hardware materials.
Proficiency in preparing and managing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance with internal controls, and timely processing.
Experience in contract negotiation, including pricing, payment terms, and service levels, with a focus on cost savings and risk mitigation.
Well-developed analytical skills to compare quotations, track spend, monitor inventory levels, and support data-driven decisions.
Familiarity with procurement or inventory management software and strong MS Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft Business Central a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, sales, and finance teams.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant certificate or diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field; professional procurement certifications are an asset.
Previous experience in a retail, hardware, construction, or distribution environment is an advantage
