Role Overview

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing end-to-end operations across inventory management, in-house manufacturing, outbound/inbound logistics, and retail store performance. This role is critical to scaling the business efficiently, improving inventory turns, strengthening merchandising execution, and implementing automation and software solutions to support growth.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with experience managing people, production workflows, and retail operations while leveraging technology to improve visibility, efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

Own and manage company-wide inventory across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
Establish inventory controls to improve accuracy, reduce shrinkage, and increase inventory turns
Forecast demand in collaboration with DTC sales and retail teams
Implement inventory management systems and dashboards to provide real-time visibility
Optimize replenishment, stock levels, and SKU performance

Manufacturing & Production Operations

Oversee in-house manufacturing operations, including candles, soaps, jewelry, and other products
Develop and manage production schedules to meet retail and wholesale demand
Ensure quality standards, consistency, and compliance with safety and operational procedures with SOPs and checklists
Lead, coach, and develop production staff, supervisors, and artisans
Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, improve throughput, and cost per unit

People Management

Directly manage and develop operations, manufacturing, and inventory teams
Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability structures
Recruit, train, and retain high-performing team members
Foster a culture of operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement

Retail Store Operations & Sales Support

Partner with retail, finance, and sales leadership to support sales performance at the Nassau store location(s)
Ensure optimal product availability, visual merchandising execution, and stock flow
Analyze sales and inventory data to improve assortment planning and sell-through
Support store teams with operational tools, processes, and training

Automation, Systems & Process Improvement

Lead the selection and implementation of software solutions (POS, inventory, ERP, production planning, or merchandising tools)
Automate manual processes where possible to improve accuracy and efficiency
Use data and reporting to drive operational decisions and continuous improvement
Act as the operational owner for systems integration across manufacturing, inventory, and retail

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
5–10+ years of operations experience in manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods
Proven experience managing inventory across production and retail environments
Hands-on experience implementing automation, inventory systems, or operational software
Experience in small-to-mid-sized, fast-growing businesses strongly preferred
