Purpose

Provide leadership to the company to achieve the key objectives of the company in the local market and build a strong brand in the industry. He / She will be responsible for the overall performance of the company in terms of both operational & financial areas. He/she will be responsible for developing & executing the business plan & the achievement of Key Performance Indicators in the areas of customer, financial, internal business processes, people & suppliers. He/she will Design, Plan & Manage all company resources to enhance value to all company stakeholders and Identifies markets to be grown or maintained and develops appropriate business strategies.

Functions

Monitor, motivate, develop the team to achieve their goals & targets and provide guidance & direction for logistics solutions to the team where needed.

Develop Sales & Marketing efforts (including new client prospecting, develop suitable proposals for new customers) for the company to achieve revenue growth, secure new clients beyond the project anchor client & expand the service portfolio.

Coordinate with customers (if required) on shipment handling according to standard operating procedures and customers requirements. Monitor internal Logs/systems data entry as per global-, regional or customer required KPI’s.

Update direct supervisor Handling of (complex) operations issues & customer enquiries/complaints on shipment handling including on progress of these.

Provide guidance & direction for logistics solutions to customers & internal productivity/quality improvement projects

Coordinate with airline/ shipping line /supplier/contractor contact to ensure smooth shipment handling and compliance with standard operating procedures/ customer requirements.

Establish a long-term business relationship with SR managers & Directors of airline/ shipping line/supplier/contractor (main) contact (Quarterly visit reports for each supplier).

Liaise and negotiate contracts & rates with external suppliers/contractors/customs as direct contact for the country.

Ensure compliance in (Customs) operations, Environment, Health and Safety, Financial, Systems & Controls

Identify, select, train and mentor location staff and oversee safety and training programs, plans and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract and regulatory requirements.

Assure that the Supervisors lead their team and process inbound & Outbound shipments as per standard operating procedure, customer - & Customs requirements, Not excluding export compliance

Coordinate Collection of services & duties with Customer upon or prior to delivery.

Provide Operational, sales and financial support on Projects and/or special shipments.

Participate in conference calls when required.

Provide Weekly and monthly reports for country.

Coordinate and support effectively with other internal department contacts to ensure efficient shipment handling/documentation/customs clearance/customer issue resolution.

Creates & reviews Employees Trimestral objectives for his direct reports, including submission to HR and direct supervisor

Holds weekly meetings with team with presence list and Minutes of the meeting

Incumbents have direct reports and authority over country line for functional personnel. He / she must be able to demonstrate ability to influence decisions/actions through provision of value-added inputs into the organization’s business processes.
