KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Liaises with Production Supervisor or Designate at start of shift. This ensures that any operational changes e.g. special product requests are taken into account.
Reports any observed product defects to the Shift Leader.
Transports palletized product from production line to warehouse.
Ensures that forklift and other assigned equipment are operated in manner that does not compromise its continued operability.
Removes any non – conforming product from the operating line.
Checks forklift at appropriate intervals to ensure that it is safe for use.
Monitors and operates Packaging (Messersi) equipment to ensure continuous operation of the packaging line.
Ensures that mechanical or other observed defects on forklift are reported to the relevant personnel in a timely manner.
Assists Packaging and Handling Operator in preparing report at end of shift. (Report must indicate quantity and grade of product transported to storage).
Notifies Production Supervisor of any problems that may arise.
Assists team members in the event of breakdowns.
Cross trains on all equipment relevant to the continued operation of the line.
Performs all duties and otherwise in a manner that supports a clean, healthy and safe work environment.
Promote safety awareness and the development of a Safety culture within the company.
