Job Summary:

The Inventory Assistant will support the Inventory Manager in ensuring the efficient handling,

organization, and tracking of medical supplies (soft goods), implants, and surgical equipment. This

role involves inventory control, stock management, order processing, and coordination with internal

teams to maintain accurate records and ensure seamless warehouse operations. Additionally, the

Inventory Assistant will be responsible for in-house cleaning, maintenance, and assisting with

the upkeep of surgical equipment to ensure all tools and implants remain in optimal condition for

use.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

Assist in tracking, receiving, and inspecting incoming stock for accuracy and quality.
Maintain organized inventory records and update stock levels in the inventory management
system.
Monitor stock movement and report discrepancies or shortages to the Inventory Manager.
Assist in periodic stock checks and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of inventory items, including orthopedic
implants and surgical consumables.

Order Processing and Logistics Support

Prepare and pack items for dispatch to hospitals, sales representatives, and clients.
Coordinate with the sales and surgical teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Record and track outgoing inventory, ensuring all dispatches are properly documented.
Assist in monitoring the return and restocking of unused surgical items.
Warehouse Operations, Maintenance & Equipment Upkeep
Perform general in-house cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse and storage
areas.
Assist in the cleaning, maintenance, and organization of surgical equipment to ensure
proper functionality and sterility.
Conduct routine inspections of instruments and implants, reporting any damage or wear
to the Inventory Manager.
Support warehouse organization to optimize space utilization and accessibility.
Ensure all equipment is handled, stored, and maintained according to medical industry
standards.
Assist in identifying needs for repairs or replacement of tools and equipment

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory logs, dispatch records and stock usage reports.
Assist in preparing purchase orders for restocking based on usage forecasts and inventory
levels.
Support the Inventory Manager in compiling reports for management on stock usage,
discrepancies, and efficiency improvements.
Handle documentation related to incoming and outgoing shipments.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

Minimum five (5) CXC or O Level Equivalent Passes including English and Mathematics.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in inventory management, warehousing, or logistics
(preferably in a medical, pharmaceutical or surgical distribution environment).
Familiarity with medical inventory management systems or ERP software will be considered
an asset.
Certification or training in inventory control, warehouse operations, or medical equipment will
be considered an asset.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and inventory management software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Good communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

This position is primarily based in the warehouse but may require travel to hospital sites for
deliveries or pickups.
May involve lifting, standing for extended periods, and handling delicate medical equipment
Work may require weekend or extended hours of work
