Job Purpose:

The Mechanical Technician Trainee will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery. The trainee will gain hands-on experience with various tools, machines, and techniques used in the mechanical field to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs:

Assist in performing preventive/corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
Learn to troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults in machinery.
Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.

Inspection and Diagnostics:

Assist in inspecting mechanical components for wear and tear.
Learn to diagnose and identify mechanical issues.
Record maintenance activities and findings in logs.

Safety and Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing tasks.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Participate in safety training and drills.

Tool Handling and Workshop Practices:

Assist in handling and maintaining tools and equipment used for mechanical work.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Learn proper workshop practices, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Learning and Development:

Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Shadow senior technicians to gain hands-on experience.
Stay updated with new technologies and practices in the mechanical field.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirement:

Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field from a recognized institution.
Candidates with a high school diploma (or equivalent) and relevant vocational training will also be considered.

Technical Skills:

Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
Familiarity with safety protocols in mechanical workshops.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Strong willingness to learn and improve technical skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions:

May involve working in industrial environments with noise, heat, and dust.
Requires the ability to work on-site and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
