Job Summary

Showroom Supervisors are responsible for assisting the Storeroom Manager in the day-to-day operations of the showroom. Your daily tasks will include customer relations, consumer demand, inventory control, stock management and store maintenance. You will also play a key role in enhancing our showrooms, generating sales leads, managing, and motivating the retail team to ensure that sales targets are exceeded.

Terms of Employment

You will be required to work Monday to Saturday and some Sundays or extended hours based on seasonal demand. Reports toShowroom Manager and Retail Division Manager. All employees can be moved to any store location if needed on a temporary or permanent need basis by Retail Division Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities are:

Opening and closing of the store based on stipulated operating hours.
Strict adherence to all clocking in/out procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook
Overseeing and assisting in managing all sales representatives and completion of daily tasks
Achieving budgetary targets as defined by the Showroom Manager
Achieve personal sales targets
Motivate sales representatives to achieve targets.
Follow the chain of command of AAL – Sales Representative & Supervisors -> Store Manager -> Retail Division Manager; if the channels of communication isn’t being followed through contact Retail Division manager directly.
Monitor of attendance and performance of sales representative; inform manager of any issues.
Compliance to Head Office end of day sales reports and deposits
Adherence to company cash handling and vault operation procedures
Compliance with all Head Office accounting requirements and procedures
Ensure that the store has change available for the customer at all times
Clean all areas of the showroom, stockroom, desks, shelves and washroom in an effort to maintain a welcoming environment for customers; per Manager’s specifications
Complete Supervisor morning walkthroughs for inventory check and shelf replenishment. Evaluate the supply and availability of stocks as well as fast moving stocks. Inform store manager of any issues.
Report, document and follow up store maintenance requests or issues through the proper channels of AAL, Store Manager and Retail Division Manager.
Assist Showroom Manager with the weekly ordering of stock. There is to be no over ordering or out of stocking.

· Inform Retail Manager and Store Manager when orders are not delivered within 2-3 days of orders being placed.

Monitor shelves stocks and product displays, and the general appearance of the store.
Transfer and share goods with stores when needed without delay. File and organize transfers documents.
Follow all procedures for receiving goods and ensure discrepancies are highlighted on invoice and discrepancy report; as instructed by AAL Head Office.
Ensure goods are packed away neatly in storeroom and on shelves. Delivered goods should not be left on showroom floor for more than 24 hours
All staff are liable and responsible for stock inventory or billing discrepancies and therefore it is recommended that all staff be present for stock taking
Recommend measures to avoid stock damages, theft, and wastage.
Assist Manager in identifying damaged and removal of inventory items. Following AAL procedures.
Inform inventory and manager of items that do not carry a barcode, lot # issues or not readable on the system, have an incorrect description or received damaged
Assist Manager in stock control, minimize dead stock and upsell slow moving items
Inform manager and inventory of any inventory system issues.
Participate in the designing of show window and table displays
Mounting of products for display may be required depending on the type of product
Maintain an attractive display with correct pricing and change show window displays once a month based on the direction of the Retail Division Manager and Retail Marketing Coordinator
Assist Manager in organizing the store to proper standards ahead of inventory counts
Handle refunds, returns and exchanges with a focus on timeliness and customer service; all refundsand returns have to be inspected by Manager and then approved by Retail Division Manager
Knowledge and further research of products sold to provide excellent service and assist in achieving sales targets. Inform manager of new and growing competitors.
Adherence to company cash handling and vault operation procedures
Assist Manager in training of sales representatives
Investigate market trends and product offering that would appeal to customers and make recommendations to Manager and Retail Division Manager
Execute and participate in all new marketing promotions and limited time offers as directed by the Retail Marketing Coordinator
Provide feedback to Manager and Retail Marketing Officer of which advertisements, in store promotions and campaigns that consumers are responding to
Prepare necessary documentation for request of quotations for customers; Manager to review and Retail Division Manager to approve.
Customer maintenance with respect to charge or cheque payments and liaise with Accounts Receivable Department and the Group Credit Controller
Timely greeting and assistance to customer on the phone and in store
Locate merchandise for customers, placing special orders to find desired items if necessary
Assist customers with merchandise to their car
Call customers 3-4 days after delivery of items to confirm if everything was received and find out if they need anything else
Creating and updating of customer accounts on system with email addresses.
Address customers' requests, comments, and complaints; in conjunction with Manager
Build positive relationships with interdependent departments such as AAL Consumer Brand Managers, Customer Service, Bio Med, Warehouse, and other areas
Manage the store when Branch Manager is unavailable; following all the rules and procedures of Retail Division Manager and AAL Head Office
Going above and beyond for customers and your co-workers
Treat managers and other staff members with respect and kindness.
Perform other duties as assigned from time to time

Qualifications

Minimum of 6 CSEC inclusive of Mathematics, English Language, some post-secondary education preferred.
Diploma in Business Administration or Financial Management will be an asset
Exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers.
Competency in retail management software and POS system
Proficiency with Excel spreadsheet and Word processing software.

Experience

Demonstrable experience in a supervisory capacity at a retail store, or similar.
In-depth knowledge of product, consumer and competitor trends
Exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers.
