The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and company assets. This role involves monitoring premises, conducting patrols, enforcing security policies and responding promptly to incidents.

SOME KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Be visible at all times.
Exercise excellent observations skills in identifying any situation that may pose a risk to the safety and security of employees, customers, visitors etc.
Maintain surveillance and through excellent observant skills identify or detect suspicious behaviour that can lead to loss or damage to company assets.
Detect, challenge and displace unwanted persons which may include but not limited to loiters, and other individuals who may not have good intentions.
Monitor entrances and departures of employees, customers, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
Provide assistance and be respectful to all in a courteous and professional manner.
Ensure that no unauthorized vehicles are parked within or around the facility.
Ensure that the driveways, entrances, and exits are kept clear at all times.
Maintain absolute confidentiality as it relates to the company’s personnel, property, assets and information.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Minimum 3 CSEC Subjects – Mathematics & English mandatory.
Knowledge of security protocols, emergency procedures and public safety regulations an asset
Minimum three years relevant work experience.
A valid Police Certificate of Good Character (COC).
Physical fitness and ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to stand and/or patrol for extended periods
