Position Summary

The College of Business is seeking students to join the Dean’s Student Support (DSS) Team. This team provides essential service and operational support to the College through event support, reception duties, facility operations, special projects, mail/shipping support, and excellent customer service. Positions offer valuable professional experience in a dynamic business environment working closely with faculty and staff.

Anticipated Start Date

Spring 2026 semester

New staff training will occur May 2–3, 2026.

Anticipated Weekly Hours

Hours when classes are in session: Up to 10 hours per week
Summer and academic breaks: 10–40 hours per week depending on availability
Business hours: 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday
Schedules accommodate classes, exams, and academic commitments

Required Job Qualifications

Strong attention to detail
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Organized, dependable, and demonstrating a strong work ethic
Ability to perform duties that may include physical work

Preferred Job Qualifications

Business majors or minors (all disciplines encouraged to apply)
Students with work-study awards
First- or second-year students who can remain with the team for multiple semesters
 Strong preference for applicants with summer availability

Essential Duties

Event setup and tear down
Serving as receptionist for the College of Business
Supporting daily building and facility operations
Completing maintenance-related tasks such as painting, hanging, and small-scale projects
Completing special projects for the Dean’s Office and other administrators
Assisting with recording security information
Providing mail room, shipping, and receiving support
Delivering excellent customer service to all stakeholders
Performing additional varied duties as assigned

Additional Information

Business hours: 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday
Starting pay: $15.16 per hour, with incremental increases after each successfully completed semester
Final candidates may be subject to a background check
