Job Summary:

The Manager – Operations is responsible for building and leading a team of highly motivated, committed and driven individuals to administer the delivery of Private Security Services to the Company’s clientele ensuring maximum client satisfaction through regular/planned client interface. The incumbent is expected to ensure portfolio growth in line with business plan both from existing and new clients with a dedicated focus on the private sector. To ensure operational efficiency as it relates to manpower planning, rostering and administrative operational support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· To operationalize the vision and strategic mandate of the Executive team of the Company into tangible plans that will ensure that operational performance meets the desired standard.

· To establish standards of performance for both the field and administrative arms of the Operations Department to ensure customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and growth

· To select, coach and mentor direct reports in achieving the financial, people management and customer satisfaction targets established by the Company.

· To develop a robust framework of policies and procedures that are geared towards ensuring consistency of performance across every unit of the Field Operations, and to consistently audit the implementation of these policies and procedures.

· To consistently review and amend (where necessary), established policies and procedures to ensure that the security operations are executed in line with the Strategic Plan.

· To work with the Marketing Department to develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive Customer Care programme within the Operations Department.

· To work closely with HR towards ensuring that the human resource needs of the Operations Department are met at all times through recruitment and selection and to make recommendations on the appropriate training and development activities required to ensure that the established performance standards are met.

· To guide and support the Operations Management team in the achievement of their budgetary goals for the financial period.

· To ensure that departmental costs are effectively managed.

· To work with the Fleet Manager to ensure that fleet practices are effectively managed within the various divisions so that the operations are effectively supported in a cost-efficient manner.

· To work with HR towards the maintenance of a fair and transparent disciplinary process to ensure that discipline is maintained at all levels of the department.

· Provides leadership, advice and counsel to all security staff in achieving current and long rage strategic program objectives.

· Serves as staff support to security management and assists in conducting investigations of significant threats and/or the loss or misappropriation of contracts.

· Performs incident analysis and investigation relative to all incidents with advice and closure to all responsible functional management and supporting security management.

· To assist in the planning, development and implementation of the Company's Strategic Plan.

· Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations, Chief Executive Officer and/or the Executive Chairman.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

· A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Security Administration and Management or Business Management from an accredited institution

· Computer Literacy as evidenced by a certificate from an accredited institution

· At least ten (10) years’ experience in a similar role in the private security industry with a proven track record of leading high-performance teams

· Any equivalent combination of relevant qualifications and experience may be considered
