The Business Development and Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in improving the organization’s market position, driving financial growth, and promoting Nature Seekers' strategic and program objectives. This position is responsible for defining long-term strategic goals, building customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, overseeing marketing strategies, and ensuring financial sustainability. This Business Development and Marketing Manager role merges the responsibilities of Business Development Manager and Marketing Officer, ensuring the organization's strategic goals, financial growth, and marketing strategies are aligned and effectively managed under one leadership position.

Responsibilities

Prospect for potential new clients and partners to drive business growth.
Develop a robust network within the industry and geographic area to create a pipeline of opportunities.
Identify potential clients and decision-makers within client organizations.
Build and maintain relationships with new clients, including donors.
Plan approaches and pitches to secure business deals.
Collaborate with the team to create proposals tailored to client needs.
Lead pricing negotiations and handle objections to reach favorable agreements.
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels to increase sales.
Leverage market knowledge to develop unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Marketing

Lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies that align with Nature Seekers' strategic and program objectives.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
Prepare reports for stakeholders, including the Managing Director, Management Committee, Board, and donors.
Identify new product ideas and lead enhancements to existing products and services.
Conduct customer surveys and recommend pricing strategy changes.
Develop sales and distribution strategies in collaboration with program coordinators.

Relationship Management

Forge strong alliances to support the implementation of strategic marketing and promotion goals.
Collaborate with the Managing Director and other team members.

Human Resource Management

Recruit, select, and supervise marketing staff if and where applicable.
Manage the performance of marketing staff.
Oversee and ensure adherence to health and safety rules.

Organizational Development

Participate in the development and implementation of Nature Seekers' strategic plan.
Work collaboratively with other staff members on work plans and the annual budget.
Promote Nature Seekers' vision, mission, and values.
Cultivate effective relationships with donors and partners.

Qualifications

Education

- A bachelor’s degree in a business or marketing-related field or equivalent

professional experience.

Experience

- Minimum of two years in middle management marketing, preferably in the tourism

industry.

Competencies

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to tailor

communications to different stakeholder groups.

- Proficiency in computer applications, especially PowerPoint and Adobe Suite.

- Basic graphic design skills.

- Strong presentation skills.
