Job Summary:

The New Business Coordinator will contribute to the overall success of the Operations Department, ScotiaLife Trinidad and Tobago Limited in Trinidad and Tobago ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

• Applying expert knowledge of the Needs Analysis System (NAS) and INGENIUM systems to:

• Ensure that all applications are accurately issued and completed within policy specifications

• Work with the Insurance Sales Officers to resolve any discrepancies to the customer’s satisfaction

• Liaise with the Underwriter to ensure all applications are assessed in a timely manner

• Ensure that BIR requirements are met and manage the BIR process for approved annuities

• Work with the other team members to ensure that the integrity of data on the Needs

Analysis System (NAS), INGENIUM, the Sales Reporting System (SRS) and any other system.

• Provide feedback to customers on the status of their applications

• Prepare statistics and management reports

• Ensure the delivery of service fosters overall customer satisfaction, consistent with established and prescribed standards:

• Acquiring and maintaining expert knowledge of NAS, INGENIUM and other software systems

• Acquiring and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the Insurance Act, Income tax Act and other relevant legislation

• Keeping abreast of developments in the financial services sector

• Developing effective communication skills, both written and oral, that would be conducive to

identifying customer needs, in a courteous and responsive setting

• Maintaining the confidentiality of customer information

• Delivering service in a pro-active manner to meet or surpass customer expectations

• Preparing general correspondence relative to customer enquiries

• Performing any other duties that may be assigned

• Taking full responsibility for all customer inquiries/concerns/complaints directed to him/her by resolving those matters within his/her discretion to the customer’s satisfaction or by referring the customer to the appropriate source

Education and Experience

• Working knowledge of the Insurance Act, Income tax Act, and other legislation relevant to the

company

• Good organizational skills in planning, scheduling and prioritizing the workload to meet tight

deadlines

• High level of computer literacy especially in Microsoft WORD and EXCEL

• The ability to work well in a team, multitask and work well under pressure.
