PURPOSE:

Manages the Company’s accounts receivable portfolio and the associated collections risk in accordance with defined policies and strategies to increase Company’s revenues, while minimizing its bad debt costs.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Recommend and implement approved Business Development and Collections strategies to grow the Company’s credit business and improve the portfolio’s risk profile.
• Analyze and prepare reports on the portfolio’s performance so that continuous monitoring and corrective action can be effected.
• Review, analyze and approve credit applications, that exceed the limit of their direct reports, to minimize the financial exposure to the organization.
• Approve accounts for write off to minimize the company’s debt cost.
• Audit the execution of the credit and collection process to ensure compliance to company policy, thereby minimizing organisational and financial risk.
• Lead, motivate and develop members of the team to ensure delivery of individual and departmental target.
• Perform any other related duty as stipulated by Director(s) to achieve departmental objectives.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• First Degree in a related business field.
• Five (5) years working in a similar position.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Thorough understanding of retail credit best practice.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Leadership, delegating, monitoring and coaching skills
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Conflict Resolution skills.
