Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain current knowledge of Human Resources laws and regulations and ensure property compliance.
Implement and monitor Team Member Relations (TMR), incentive, and health and wellness programs.
Communicate policies, updates, team member events, and community initiatives through appropriate channels.
Investigate industrial accidents and submit required reports to the National Insurance Board in a timely manner.
Manage grievance procedures in accordance with labor laws and company policies.
Partner with Security to promote compliance with Health and Safety standards and prevent workplace incidents in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act. Circumvent industrial accidents and other common health and safety concerns.
Maintain accurate HR records and ensure team member compliance with policies and procedures.
Ensure TM compliance with HR policies and procedures.
Maintain open door policy.
Update and submit required reports in a timely manner.
Promote positive team member relations through coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
Assist and facilitate related training programs and team member engagement initiatives.
Attend meetings as required by management
Remains confidential at all times and in all actions.
Conduct investigations into workplace incidents, misconduct, theft, policy violations, suspicious activities, and housing-related matters.
Complete thorough investigations by interviewing, questioning, analyzing, and verifying information through various investigative techniques.
Determine when to initiate an investigation based on reports and/or observations.
Collect and analyze data and preserve evidence as needed.
Prepare detailed written reports in compliance with departmental procedures, and ensure all reports are factual, legible, timely, and admissible in court.
Maintains current and historical knowledge and understanding and assists in the enforcement of company and department policies and procedures, local laws, and pertinent sections of company labor contracts.
Collaborate with leaders and make recommendations where applicable on frequent issues and matters of concern within the workplace.
Makes recommendations and assists with the monitoring of TM activities with surveillance to ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Review applicable incident reports from all shifts of the Security and Surveillance Department and act where necessary.
Review Surveillance footage for any inconsistencies and impropriety.
Assists local law enforcement with all investigative matters.
Maintains files for all investigations, including prospective team members, set-ups, thefts, and results of all other follow-up investigations.
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Liaison with New York Risk management department on all incidents as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field; or Associate degree in Human Resources with additional relevant HR experience (3-5 years).
Minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources experience with a focus on team member relations.
HR certification (PHR, PHRi, SHRM-CP) preferred.
Thorough knowledge of the Employment Act of the Bahamas and HR best practices.
Proven leadership abilities; proven experience conducting workplace investigations and resolving team member concerns.
Excellent communication skills, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in multi-tasking of projects and project management
Strong problem-solving, interviewing, respectful interrogation, and listening skills
Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines
Prior experience in the security investigations field in law enforcement or in the hotel/casino environment is strongly desired or preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with demonstrated ability to investigate incidents, interview witnesses, draft legible and factual reports and possess/obtain certification in interview/interrogation techniques.
Able to adjust work schedule to meet business needs.
Excellent skill at operating Windows-based computers including Word, PowerPoint/Excel required.
Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Performs other duties as required.
Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
