Reader's Critter Corner Ltd, (formerly, Equivet Ltd Pet Supplies Store) was founded in 2018 and has since built a strong foundation in the pet supplies industry.

Position Overview

The Operations Lead plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and customer‑centered daily operations of Reader’s Critter Corner Ltd. This position helps drive operational excellence by overseeing procurement and inventory activities, coordinating team members during shifts, and maintaining a clean, organized, and pet‑friendly store environment.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

Oversee day-to-day store activities to ensure the store is clean, well-organized, and ready for customers.
Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and store readiness.

Inventory & Stock Management

Lead receiving, processing, and replenishing of merchandise.
Conduct regular cycle counts and help maintain accurate inventory levels.
Organize back‑of‑house storage for efficiency and safety.
Identify stock issues, discrepancies, or shrinkage and report them to management.

Customer Service Leadership

Provide outstanding service to customers and model best practices for team members.
Answer product questions with confidence, including pet nutrition and general pet care knowledge.
Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and efficiently.

Team Support & Coordination

Help guide, coach, and support team members during shifts.
Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and maintain smooth workflow.

Operational Support

Assist with organizing and tracking social media marketing material.
Communicate store needs, customer feedback, and operational issues.
Support administrative tasks and other duties as needed.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Previous experience with retail business, overseas procurement, and shipping logistics.
Ability to repeatedly lift up-to 50 lbs. bags of pet food is a must.
Comfort working around pets (dogs/cats) and handling pet supplies.
Experience in the pet supply industry or having pet care knowledge is a plus.
Familiarity with Odoo CRM or other inventory software is a plus.
