Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Accountant role based in Chaguaramas. The Assistant Accountant will support the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, assisting with the preparation and timely payment of corporate taxes & vat, preparing bank reconciliations, performing inter-company and general ledger reconciliations, review and verify payroll for processing, and monitoring and maintaining accounts payable and receivable. The role will help maintain accurate general ledger entries, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and assist in preparing financial reports and summaries for management. The Assistant Accountant will also help monitor cash flow, maintain organized financial records, and ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. Collaboration with other departments across the resort (hotel, marina, restaurant, and retail outlets) as required.

Qualifications

ACCA Level 2 or other accounting qualifications.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, for data entry, reconciliations, and report preparation.
Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organization skills to manage multiple financial tasks and deadlines.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with finance colleagues and operational teams across the resort.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, follow internal controls, and adhere to ethical financial practices.
Relevant academic background such as an associate degree, diploma, or ongoing professional studies in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Prior experience in an accounting or finance support role; experience in hospitality or retail environments is an asset.
Capability to work on-site in Chaguaramas, adapt to a fast-paced setting, and support occasional extended hours during peak periods or month-end close.
