Corvalier Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited (formerly Clairmont Trust Company Limited) is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to strengthen its Compliance Team.

Position Description

The Compliance Officer will be a primary support to the Head of Compliance/ MLRO in the management of the daily activities of the Compliance Department and maintenance of the company’s compliance and AML/ CFT programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and submission of regulatory filings and reporting.
Review, investigation and onboarding of new customers and accounts.
Ongoing monitoring of existing clients.
Ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations issued by The Central Bank of The Bahamas, The Securities Commission of The Bahamas and other applicable regulators.
Development, implementation and enhancement of policies and procedures.
Monitoring and testing activities to ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures.
Assistance with regulatory audits, examinations, compliance projects and other duties as assigned by the Head of Compliance.
Staff training and awareness.
Encouraging and promoting a compliance culture within the organization
Other duties as delegated for the efficient and effective functioning of the company

Minimum qualifications and competencies required:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance or law degree.
Professional Certification in Compliance and Anti Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing.
At least 5 years of relevant compliance or similar experience, e.g. internal or external audit.
Excellent understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud and financial crime regulations.
Excellent understanding of KYC and customer due diligence requirements as well as risks and internal controls relevant to a financial institution.
Good working knowledge of CRS, FATCA and CESRA regulations and requirements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to think critically, have an analytical mindset and pay keen attention to details.
TEP qualification or experience in a trust/wealth management environment would be a plus.
Experience regarding securities investments and markets would be a plus.
